THE WORK

  • I am primarily an emotionally focused and somatic psychotherapist, which means that I believe emotions that live in our bodies are important keys to helping healing unfold.

    • How you’ll experience it: When we’re working together you will often be invited by me to explore what is happening in your body when emotions come up so that you can learn to be in the present moment with what is happening for you. Our bodies hold important information so we’ll work to help you be able to listen to it.

  • I believe that the relationship between client and therapist is a vital tool in the therapy process and that when a client and a therapist make a really good team goals are reached faster.

    • How you’ll experience it: I’ll check in with you often to see what you’re noticing and not make assumptions. I will observe what is happening for you, but I won’t really know until we observe it together.

  • I work through a trauma lens which means that I view the issues a client is experiencing as potentially being connected to past traumatic or challenging events, experiences or relationships that are important to explore.

    • How you’ll experience it: Together, we may explore past experiences, what you might have unconsciously learned in them and if you’re still living them out today. We’ll then take a look at if you still want to be embracing those ways of living in the world, and if not, help you learn new ways of being.
